The Takeover

So the ARG appears to have been taken over by faux vampires. Probably from VampireFreaks.com and the like. This has turned the bloodcopy forum into an utter mess. What's worse is HBO seems to be encouraging it, maybe they like the attention?? Well...I'm not throwing in the towel yet, but I'm seriously considering it. I hope HBO doesn't screw this up, or the TV show... (Hint: HBO, numbers aren't everything.)

Thought I'd add some info about when I managed to register at RO back on May 27 when people first got access to the site and before they blocked the registrations. The member's list: http://www.box.net/shared/148y0v50kg. I'm not going to post the rest of the stuff I got because well it just seems unethical. I got all the posts for just over half of the members and some of them were dated into the future...so guess what that means? It's all automated. Have a nice day.

We're In

Well we got in tonight, I've been going over the forums with a finetooth comb. Here's the data I got, it's up to you to make use of it.

Here's a zip file with all of the avatars from the forum in it, Shane noticed that when some of them are put together they form things. For example the Japanese avatars form the Kanji symbol for "Truth".

Second is a vampire directory containing data gathered from the site as well as a couple other places: (Note: It's in Excel format if you don't have excel and want to see it leave a comment and I'll try to export it to another format. Also list formats that are convenient for you, if nothing else I can try to do a PDF, the layout will be troublesome though)

And I might post some Audio Clips although what info there is to be gained from the audio is circumspect at this point because the Gatekeeper isn't coming back.

Sunday Night's Audio

Well tonight was disappointing to say the least, few clues, bad connections, and very little progress on our part.

I'm just going with MP3's for now, if you want a wav for some reason, just ask.

Clip 1: The gatekeeper mentions the "House of Euxine"
Clip 2: A cow mooing in the background...?
Clip 3: She calls it the "Red Gate" for the first time, does it again several times throughout the night.
Clip 4: Talks about rest, sleep, and asks "What's your type?"
Clip 5: Probably the strangest clip of the night, "Rick Astley has always been one of us" Update: This is probably because ShaneBaxter from the UnForums had the balls to "Rick Roll" her on Friday. Nice one Shane.
Clip 6: Samson from BloodCopy calls in, riles up the gatekeeper. This clip is a testament to how choppy it was tonight, hopefully someone else has a better clip.

Vampire Houses

Judging by Samson's responses on BloodCopy these may not all be houses, maybe another race?

"Virapalien" (Spelling confirmed by Samson on BloodCopy, but said he didn't know who they were, may not be a house?)
"Lindwurm" (Spelling confirmed by Samson, Old Norse linnormr 'constrictor snake', Norwegian lindorm 'serpent', German Lindwurm 'dragon')
"Tenebrae" (Also associated with Persia, and spelling confirmed by Samson, Latin for Shadows)
"House of Euxine" (Spelling confirmed by Samson, called them dangerous, Greek means 'Inhospitable')

Questions that need answering

The gatekeeper has asked some specific questions, to allow access to the site, so far no one has been able to answer any of them

"This site has a specific purpose what is it?" (We probably have an answer: "To discuss whether or not vampires should reveal themselves to the world")
"Can you prove you're real?" (Guess I'll be buying a set of fangs tomorrow, see if that works)
"Do you have the right qualities?" (Fangs?)
"What makes you worthy?" (Fangs??)
"What house are you from?" Saying one of the houses in the Vampire Houses section works but then she asks:
"Who is your master?"
"When were you made?" (also "made aware") Saying 200 got this response: "Impossible I'd know who you are" Saying something less than a few years and she just hangs up on you. 103 and she said "Sounds like you're guessing." She is "at least 30x28 (840) years old" Read more...

Newspaper Ads

Not sure if this is important or not but I thought I'd post my thoughts. They have been seriously pushing the "newspaper ads" over on BloodCopy. We (think we) know they're all fakes, but why push it so hard? Anyways here's a rundown maybe someone will see a pattern.

In order of appearance:

Ad 1: The ads showing through the back of the ad point to the CalgaryHerald based out of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The article on the left can be read in it's entirety here it's from the University of Nottingham in England. The article on the right is here it's also from the UK.

Ad 2: No longer on the blog and there's nothing else I can find out about it.

Ad 3: BloodCopy says it was emailed to them from Paris but it's in dutch, I tried to translate the article on the top right with BabelFish and this is what came out: "The last days was feel it already but the ball is by the church. Reno and Linda are no longer the golden kopel. The new contract that signed Reno and the not kunoen travel for Linda were large busy on the relation, after 9 years, are it concerning. In a response Reno say with a broken voice: " I hou of its, and future will say what will happen, text: RvdV" I could find no Dutch or English articles similar to the above, it's not quite gibberish but it's probably made up.

Ad 4: Oklahoma City

Ad 5: Der Telegraf is a popular name for newspapers, it was a Jewish newspaper around 1900. German here.

Ad 6: Italian, I guess. BabelFish doesn't translate the word "cronac".
